Wine Barrel Bar Stools – For the rustic seat, a wine barrel can double as a bar stool, with virtually no modification. For a little more attractive and comfortable stool, you can make some design adjustments with relatively little effort and basic materials. If your project requires the use of saws, other power tools or electric sanders, follow all applicable safety regulations, such as the use of safety glasses, to avoid personal injury. Measure through the top of the wine barrel to determine its diameter.
Take several measurements at different angles at the top to check if you have a perfectly circular barrel, or if it is slightly oval. Place two layers of fabric on a clean, smooth surface, with inward facing patterns. Use chalk to draw a circle to fit the top of the wine barrel bar stools. Draw another circle about an inch away from the first one. Pin the two pieces of cloth just inside the circle drawn so that they are flush, without wrinkles or gathers.
Draw a third circle around the second, approximately 1/2 inch more outside the smaller circle. Avoid confusion by using a dashed line to draw the outermost circle. Sew the two pieces of fabric, stitching along the center circle. Use yarn that complements the color of the fabric you are using. Use a sewing machine for a stronger wine barrel bar stools. Make small, regular stitches if you sew by hand.
